Tim Walker, the Story Teller.


Tim Walker est un magicien. Il fait pousser des arbres à gâteaux, éclore des ballons multicolores sur des façades de manoirs anglais et rouler des autos en tricot. Ce garçon a le don de transformer des séries pour Vogue en contes et les top modèles en fées.
Né en 1970, il vit aujourd'hui à Londres. A 24 ans, il obtient le 3ème prix d'un concours de jeune photographes de mode, et s'envole pour NY, "le meilleur endroit pour devenir un assistant". Il travaille alors pour Richard Avedon pendant 10 mois, il se fera renvoyé car le célèbre photographe était très exigeant, néanmoins cette courte expérience lui ouvre des portes. 
En 1995, il shoot sa première série pour VOGUE UK, et c'est une longue collaboration qui commence, puisqu'il travaille aujourd'hui encore pour VOGUE UK, US et Italie.  Il fera également les publicités pour "Juicy Couture", "Miss Dior Chérie" et "Hermès".
Tim Walker insiste sur l'authenticité de ses oeuvres, "Tout est réel!". Aucune de ses photos n'est issue d'un photomontage, des chats roses et jaunes au poisson géant de Lily Cole, en passant par le bateau dans la bibliothèque. Il n'est pas passionné par la haute technologie photographique et n'aime rien tant que la lumière naturelle.

Tim Walker is a magician. He grows cakes on trees, blooms colorful balloons on the facades of English mansions and drives knitted cars. This men has the gift to transform editorials for Vogue into tales and top models into fairies.
Born in 1970, he now lives in London. At 24, he obtained the 3rd prize in a competition of young fashion photographers, and flew to NYC, "the best place to become a assistant". He then worked for Richard Avedon for 10 months, he was  fired as the famous photographer was very demanding, however this short experience opened doors to him.
In 1995 he shot his first series for Vogue UK, which turned into a long lasting relationship as he's still working today for VOGUE UK, U.S. and Italy. He also did ads for "Juicy Couture", "Miss Dior Cherie" and "Hermes". 
Tim Walker insists on the authenticity of his works, "Everything is real!". None of his photos is helped by photomontage, cats are actually pink and yellow, Lily Cole's fishes are really giant, and there's a boat physically in the library. He is not fascinated by the high-tech photography and likes nothing better than natural light.
